Intro

These notes cover the usage of Netlab, a utility for network design and network technology training. The content is based on a collection of completed lab exercises from the OTUS Data Center Network Design course.

Since the notes were written retrospectively after completing the labs, some examples may be suboptimal. Additionally, lab topologies tend to be slightly overloaded due to specific requirements such as address space binding, dual-stack configurations, and the use of /31 and /127 subnet masks — all of which were explicitly requested by the instructor for lab validation.

It’s also important to note that all examples were implemented using Containerlab, as the lab environments were deployed on Xen-based virtual machines that did not support nested QEMU virtualization

All topology YAML files work correctly on version 25.7 with customization. In your environment, not all topologies start without modifications, but I am working on this and will add the appropriate files to ensure compatibility.
